Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive administration, performance tuning, and security hardening for both Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems
Administer Active Directory services, including Group Policy (GPO) management and troubleshooting, DNS, and user/group administration within a multi-level DoD forest
Administer and maintain local storage solutions, including NetApp and EMC Isilon, as well as S3-compatible object storage platforms like Cloudian
Manage and maintain key infrastructure applications, including Commvault for backups, SolarWinds for monitoring, and ServiceNow for incident management. Provide support for web applications running on ColdFusion
Provide administrative support for Microsoft SQL Server environments, assisting with maintenance, monitoring, and ensuring operational readiness
Implement and maintain DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), perform regular system patching and vulnerability remediation, and support security audits
Develop and maintain scripts, primarily using PowerShell, to automate routine administrative tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure system consistency
Support the deployment and maintenance of commercial scientific applications such as Matlab, Comsol, and Pymol on both Windows and Linux platforms
Manage virtual machines and resources within a VMware vSphere environment
Qualification
Required
