The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and is seeking a Caseworker Assistant Intern to support services for immigrant children and youth. The intern will assist in identifying community resources, outreach efforts, and administrative duties to improve client self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

Assist program officer/senior caseworker with client support services
Assist with research on local community resources
Assist with outreach to local organizations to help establish partnerships within the community
Carry out administrative duties including data entry, reporting
Assist with managing client case notes and files
Communicate case statuses and client concerns to supervisor, coordinate service plans with supervisor

Required

Excellent communication and writing skills
Organized with attention to detail
Able to work independently and under pressure
An interest in international issues
Strong desire to help people and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting
Computer literacy – preferably with PC systems
Must pass a background check
Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred

HIGHLY preferred - bilingual ability in English and Spanish
