Assembly Technician Lead

Responsibilities

Sets daily and weekly assembly tasks for the Plano branch for self and other employee. Familiarity with managing build times and priority preferred
Assembles product per Hartfiel Automation job folders, which may include, but not limited to, control panel assembly, valve stacking, fitting installation, reading and pulling orders, labeling product, and testing product
Performs final test of finished assemblies
Participates in continual process improvement, the safe use of basic shop tools and equipment, and keeping work area clean and orderly
Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, orders, or other records
Examines incoming shipments for damage and shortages, rejects damaged or wrong items, and reports any discrepancies to purchasing
Stores items after inspection following distribution department’s procedure
Pulls items for outgoing orders following instructions on shipper
Labels items with appropriate information (part number, barcode, description, carton number, etc) and packs items
Verifies outgoing items meet customer specifications (i.e. labels, packaging, carrier, etc)
Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
Routes other items received to proper departments
Does inventory cycle counting
Follows all quality processes and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation
Operates within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements
Must be able to sit or stand and lift up to 40 pounds infrequently
Must be able to operate hand tools and have complex levels of manual dexterity
Delegates work orders, trains and develops new hires, and is responsible for the output of the team

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Six months to one year basic mechanical assembly experience
Ability to sit or stand and lift up to 40 pounds infrequently
Ability to operate hand tools and have complex levels of manual dexterity

Preferred

Degree in Electrical, Fluid Power, Automation, or Robotics
Familiarity with managing build times and priority
