Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

'47 is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead the accounting function and ensure financial accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role involves managing daily accounting activities, overseeing team development, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounting activities and functions, including close process, analysis, and reconciliations, establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
Evaluates financial transactions to ensure they comply with generally accepted accounting principles
Assists with interim and year-end external audit, including the creation of month end, quarter end and year end schedules
Builds and leverages cross-functional teams in support of departmental objectives, ensuring the accounting team and their internal customers’ needs are met
Identifies and implements opportunities to improve and streamline current processes and procedures
Drives process improvement initiatives leading to implementation of best practices
Works closely with direct reports to guide and manage performance, set goals, provide positive feedback and ongoing training to create an efficient close and reporting process
Maintains required records, reports, and files in an organized manner
Keeps all sensitive matters confidential

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
CPA required
Ten or more years of relevant accounting experience, including at least three years in public accounting and/or with a large public company
Strong technical accounting skills including knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
Four or more years of experience leading teams to achieve common goals, including supervising direct and/or indirect reports
Understands and applies U.S. GAAP, has strong internal control structure understanding and has willingness to challenge current processes or procedures as a trusted business partner
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and solutions
Proven ability to manage and strong mentoring skills, with ability to provide feedback, coach and develop others
Strong working knowledge of an ERP system
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and proficient with other MS Office applications
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and provide guidance to internal partners
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
An enthusiastic, positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence
A professional and compelling communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal style
Demonstrates an interest in and ability to continue to grow skills

Preferred

International experience or background in supporting multi-national businesses is preferred
