Responsibilities
Perform mass and energy balance calculations
Conduct heating, heat-loss, and relief calculations
Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Design custom process equipment
Specify, evaluate, and procure equipment
Design piping systems and skid-mounted process systems
Support fabrication teams during system build and assembly
Participate in experiments, process trials, and testing
Assist with commissioning of R&D systems, pilot plants, skid units, and full-scale production systems
Prepare technical work proposals for clients
Contribute to safety programs and best-practice initiatives
Support marketing of technical services and capabilities
Assist with procurement activities
Interface with customers, vendors, and contractors
Help develop process control specifications
Participate in PLC implementation
Operate R&D or small-scale chemical systems as needed
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering
5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally in a chemical plant or plant design environment
Strong background in manufacturing environments
Willingness to travel approximately 10% to customer sites
Highly self-motivated; comfortable working independently and in small teams
Ability to work remotely when required
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
Experience using AutoCAD (Autodesk)
