Responsibilities
Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and product specifications to accurately determine material requirements and confirm alignment with project scope and sustainability objectives
Maintain and operate a comprehensive materials control and inventory management system, tracking materials from receipt through final issue
Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and site teams to ensure materials are available at the right time and location
Process material requisitions and orders, verifying specifications, codes, quantities, and approved vendors or brands
Monitor material usage and inventory levels, adjusting forecasts and orders to reflect project changes or existing stock
Identify potential material shortages, surpluses, or risks and develop practical, proactive mitigation plans
Ensure materials handling, storage, and distribution activities comply with safety, quality, and project standards
Leverage digital tools, ERP systems, and reporting processes to improve accuracy, visibility, and efficiency in materials management
Provide guidance and technical support to team members involved in material control activities
Communicate clearly and professionally with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain seamless material flow
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in material control, logistics, or supply chain management
Demonstrated experience in materials management, logistics, procurement, or related roles within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors
Strong ability to interpret engineering documents, blueprints, and technical specifications
Proficiency with inventory management systems and ERP platforms
A self-directed work style, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks with minimal supervision
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with sound judgment and attention to detail
Working knowledge of safety and quality standards related to material handling and storage
Clear, effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse project teams
Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced, changing project environment
