Responsibilities

Fit and assess predictive models leveraging numerical weather forecasts and other data sources in Python
Analyze retrospective and forward-looking impact of weather on the utility grid
Collaborate with a broader data science and engineering team to take projects and products from inception to client delivery

Required

MS in atmospheric science, meteorology, engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar field of study, plus one year of applied experience or PhD with applied analysis in aforementioned field of study
Minimum three years of experience conducting data science projects using spatial-temporal weather datasets in industry or applied research, including analytical design, managing schedules, and communicating results to stakeholders
Extensive experience fitting and assessing predictive models leveraging numerical weather forecasts in Python
Experience conducting all phases of analysis, including data compilation, EDA, feature engineering, and generating deliverables
Experience working as part of a larger data science team, collaborating with technical and nontechnical peers and stakeholders

Preferred

Domain expertise using remotely sensed weather observations
Domain expertise using numerical weather prediction models (e.g., GFS, NAM, HRRR)
Experience leveraging cloud computing infrastructure (e.g., AWS)
Domain expertise in the utility space (electric, gas, water)
