Deputy General Counsel

Responsibilities
Perform legal research and write memoranda based on that research
Draft and review contracts
Advise on personnel matters and draft related communications and agreements
Perform pre-publication review of journalistic content
Conduct internal investigations
Advise on copyright and trademark matters
Assist in the management of outside counsel
Liaise with Board of Directors, USAGM, and other grantees
Perform special projects as assigned by General Counsel
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
Minimum four years of experience as an attorney
In-depth knowledge of at least one core area of U.S. law, such as corporate, employment, media, or intellectual property
Ability to perform legal research using Westlaw (or comparable software) and to present the findings of such research in concise, well-written form (mandatory)
Experience juggling multiple ongoing matters (mandatory)
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to collaborate in a highly diverse multinational workplace
Top-notch writing skills
