Associate Product Engineer
ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in access solutions, and they are seeking a recent college graduate for the Associate Product Engineer position. The role involves supporting the Product Engineering team with product design analysis, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and assisting in validating manufacturing processes to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
Assist with preparing and maintaining design and product specifications, design guidelines, and design plans
Support the review and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and related data to help evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements
Develop and update drawings for new or improved product designs using CAD software, with review and guidance from senior engineers
Assist with creating and executing product test plans, including alpha, beta, durability, and compliance testing
Learn and apply engineering analysis tools (e.g., DFMEA, PFMEA, VSA, FEA) to help identify potential product or process issues
Support material selection efforts for new or improved product designs in collaboration with Supply Chain and ASSA ABLOY sustainability guidelines
Assist with developing and documenting specifications for purchased materials and components
Support product costing activities by assisting with material, labor, and overhead cost analysis
Participate in Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities as part of a cross-functional team
Assist with testing and verification activities for internal requirements and external third-party certification agencies (e.g., UL, Intertek, FBC) and industry organizations (e.g., SDI, NAAMM/HMMA)
Participate in field activities with Product Management, such as Voice of Customer (VOC) data gathering, to help identify product improvement opportunities and inform new product development
Actively contribute to a safe, collaborative, and respectful working environment
Follow federal, state, local, and corporate governance policies, AADG programs, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Product Design Engineering
Strong desire to learn, along with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with guidance and support
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
Preferred
Internship, co-op, or early-career experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Exposure to sheet metal product design and fabrication is a plus
Working knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, ProEngineer, or SolidWorks, with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
