IT PMO Controller / IT PMO Project Controller

Responsibilities
Execute the PMO Controller function, providing insight and guidance to the Project Management (PM) team and fellow controllers
Ensure project teams meet deadlines and commitments, including timely communication with stakeholders
Act as a bridge between the PMO and project teams, ensuring alignment on goals, processes, and delivery expectations
Manage IT project documentation and repositories, including schedules, tasks, costs, risks, issues, and change requests, in accordance with IT PMO processes, procedures, and tools
Monitor the project portfolio, producing dashboard reports and performance metrics
Identify problems or potential risks that may impact project delivery, and work cross-functionally to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions
Manage projects using realistic resource plans across all phases, including transition and handover to production support
Assess the impact of technology requirements and constraints on project scope and delivery
Ensure the PMO applies IT solution delivery processes, procedures, and toolsets (e.g., DevOps, configuration management, change management) to deliver stable, scalable, and hardened solutions
Manage IT project financials, including budgets and forecasts for external resources, hardware, software, and labor
Ensure solutions and teams comply with ITIL/ITSM standards, Enterprise Architecture guidelines, Cyber Security policies, and NYPA technical standards
Fulfill IT PMO and IT Governance requirements, including PPM Pro entries, project documentation standards, project reviews, and gate approvals as defined in the IT PMO Playbook
Collaborate closely with program teams, project teams, IT teams, and business stakeholders to maintain a thorough understanding of project objectives
Promote effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, manage expectations, and prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports as required
Follow up on correspondence and outstanding action items to ensure timely resolution

Candidates are REQUIRED to be local to the Tri-State area (NY, NJ & CT)
Fully remote positions are prohibited
Hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site depending on assignment and can be fully on-site depending on business needs
Remote work privileges can be revoked at any time

Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches
Proven experience with IT solution delivery processes, procedures, and toolsets, including DevOps and configuration management
Demonstrated project management expertise, including customer relationship management, sponsor and stakeholder expectation management, risk and issue management, change management, and vendor management
Knowledge of data governance, data management, and data quality principles
Highly organized with excellent communication skills; deadline-driven, adaptable, and solution-oriented
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with a collaborative mindset
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and professional work environment across teams, management, and vendors
Superior interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive communications
Capable of diffusing emotionally charged situations and guiding teams toward shared goals
Ability to work cross-functionally to solve problems, implement change, and align decisions with broader strategic objectives
Proven record of project management success, both in measurable outcomes and consistent use of professional methodologies
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience, including successful management of multiple projects
Preferred
Advanced degree preferred
Project Management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred
Experience with ServiceNow, Power BI, and DevOps tools is a plus
