Senior Research Associate

Responsibilities

Designs, plans, conducts and coordinates experiments in support various research projects
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques of routine and non-standard research, keeping detailed records of data
Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results
Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates research projects
Recommends project guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations
Evaluates and summarizes experiment results
Establishes, installs, maintains, operates and/or repairs research equipment
Oversee and coordinate all studies in the NOVA (Virtual Reality) lab
Coordinate other Center research projects
Assists with data management and analysis
Utilizes summarized results in scientific and/or clientele-oriented publications
Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects
Assists with writing peer reviewed papers and presentations
Coordinate all IRB submissions and responses
Trains undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research
Supports Center Faculty in writing grants

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of related experience in the social and behavioral sciences and relevant field of research
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Basic statistical knowledge including t-tests, correlations, regression and ANOVA
Verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail

Preferred

Master's degree in a relevant field
Experience analyzing research data
Experience in writing peer reviewed publications
Experience in survey development and data management
