Entry-Level Systems & Security Engineer

ClearNote Health is seeking an Entry-Level Systems & Security Engineer to join their team and support the design, maintenance, and security of their enterprise systems. In this hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, the engineer will work closely with senior engineers to monitor cloud-based platforms and assist with user onboarding, troubleshooting, and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining and monitoring cloud-based platforms (Microsoft 365, Okta, Atlassian)

Support user onboarding/offboarding and access management processes

Help troubleshoot basic system and network issues across SaaS and cloud environments

Assist with any Tier 1 related task pertaining to end-user support

Participate in implementing security controls aligned with frameworks such as NIST CSF or CIS Controls

Assist with documentation for compliance efforts (HIPAA, ISO 13485)

Support audits of cloud configurations and IAM policies under guidance

Collaborate with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Security Operations Center (SOC) teams for incident response and system monitoring

Review alerts and escalate issues as needed

Help maintain backup and recovery processes

Participate in periodic testing of disaster recovery plans

Required

Basic understanding of cloud platforms and networking fundamentals

Familiarity with security principles and frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO)

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Exposure to scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python)

Interest in healthcare technology and regulatory compliance

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience with the Microsoft O365 Eco System

Experience with the Atlassian Suite

Preferred

Comptia Network + & Security + are a huge plus
