Nuclear Engineer III or Senior Nuclear Engineer – Digital Program Owner

Responsibilities

Serves as a technical lead for standard digital equipment support contracts within nuclear
Technical lead for development and maintenance of strategic master and alliance contracts for vendors of digital equipment
Point of contact and reviewer for multi-site procurement specification development to leverage master and alliance contracts
Fleet common digital project coordination to align on schedules, budgets and resources
Point of contact for strategic vendor contracts to drive engagements for oversight and early escalation of project issues
Lead input of integration of digital projects with Long range planning and Integrated Resource Planning
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to well-defined problems or to analysis of increasing scope and complexity
Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems
Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Effectively communicates with all levels of management in a professional manner
Willingness to accept new responsibilities and be eager to learn new concepts and technologies in support of company initiatives
Maintenance of corporate DPS development systems
Contract technical owner for common digital platform contracts
Lead digitalization and modernization initiative deployment for the fleet

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
4-6 years of engineering experience for Nuclear Engineer III or 6 years of engineering experience for Sr Nuclear Engineer or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
Must be able to pass required Engineering Training Program requirements
Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access
Willingness to work extended hours with changes in work schedule whenever necessary which at times could include call outs to support stations in an emergent condition
This position may be required to have Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on-call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty
Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.) as needed

Preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of computer networks (Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls)
Demonstrated experience configuring servers, firewalls, switches, data diodes
Demonstrated experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Demonstrated experience with virtualized environments using VMWare or Hyper-V
Previous Nuclear Station work experience with Plant Monitoring System, Plant Security Computer, and Cyber Security Defensive Architecture
Demonstrated platform and application engineering experience with Emerson or Westinghouse Ovation
Demonstrated experience with testing Tricon PLC systems
Demonstrated experience with OT networking designs and devices
Demonstrated experience with OSI-PI systems
Previous design engineering experience
Demonstrated experience with plant simulator systems
Demonstrated experience with software testing activities
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers in all levels of an organization
Demonstrated effective analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work
Demonstrated the ability to work as part of a team, be a self-starter, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned accountabilities
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing processes, regulations, responsibilities, and work environments
