Regulatory and Accreditation Manager
UVA Community Health is dedicated to improving patient experience through quality care. The Manager of Quality Resources will lead initiatives to enhance patient care quality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Utilizes the dynamics of the Performance Improvement Model to design, measure, assess, and improve patient care
Evaluates and reports analysis of system/facility processes and professional practice
Continuously improves core processes of the Quality Improvement Department
Reviews core processes, looking for improvement opportunities
Embraces change and acts as a change agent
Manages CMS requirements for quality reporting
Provides Regulatory support for the facility and system as required
Facilitates the process of remaining in continual readiness
Remains aware of new regulatory standards and requirements and ensures processes are in place to remain in compliance with standards
Monitors compliance of standards and reports to appropriate committees
Facilitates regulatory and accreditation surveys for facility and across the system as needed
Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements
Breaks down problems and issues into sub-components and assesses the costs, benefits, and risks of various options
Is able to select and recommend the best solution based on a thorough examination of all considerations
Is able to explain and justify actions in a systematic and logical fashion
Shares and receives information using clear oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
Actively listens, provides constructive feedback, and demonstrates respect for differing views
Tailors communications to diverse audiences
Demonstrates involvement in the unit’s annual and/or periodic assessment efforts, including efforts to improve the quality services

Builds relationships and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
Understands the importance of quality service
Is able to adjust and adapt service delivery to diverse customer needs and sensitivities
Frequently suggests and implements changes to improve the quality of service
Manages tasks and resources within the department to achieve quality and meet budget requirements
Ensures that financial and material resources are used effectively and efficiently
Leverages resources to maximize utility and return on investment (ROI)
Implements measures to minimize theft, damage, or equipment breakdown
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care facilities required
Registered nurse in Virginia or compact state of residence required
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to apply critical thinking in a variety of situations
Effective communication skills
Computer competency with basic office products (Microsoft office, word, excel, power point, publisher); ability to quickly learn proprietary tools
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong Customer Relation skills
Ability to facilitate all levels of staff appropriately through improvement processes
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize, and follow through multiple tasks
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Previous management experience preferred
Regulatory certification preferred
CPHQ preferred (required within 3 years in position)
