Responsibilities
Management Company Accounting: Own management company accounting, including expenses, reimbursements, vendors, and monthly close, while delivering clear operating expense and budget reporting
Controls & Dashboards: Build internal controls, audit-ready documentation, standardized workflows, and dashboards that provide transparent, actionable insights to family stakeholders
Portfolio Reporting: Serve as the primary liaison to third-party reporting providers, reviewing portfolio financials, valuations, performance metrics, and partner capital reporting for accuracy and consistency
Partnership Accounting & Waterfalls: Develop profit-share models, partnership structures, and waterfall calculations while overseeing capital calls, distributions, allocations, and partner capital accounts
Improvement & Support: Drive automation and system improvements, establish best practices, and partner with the CFO on financial analysis, scenario modeling, and decision support
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
8-15 years of experience in family office, investment management, or fund accounting, with partnership and carried interest exposure
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with experience using NetSuite or comparable ERPs and evaluating new accounting and reporting technologies
Strong understanding of partnership accounting, waterfall models, capital activity, portfolio reporting, and coordination with external administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
Detail-oriented, analytical leader with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced family office environment
Preferred
CPA strongly preferred
