Field Services Technician

Responsibilities

Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following:
Protective relays and relaying systems
Circuit breakers
Power transformers
Current and potential transformers
Meters, transducers, and power system metering
Power Cables
Grounding Systems
Motors and Motor Starter
Station Batteries and Chargers
Alarm Systems and Annunciator
Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and/or repairs
Generate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommended
Represent the company in a professional manner with regard to communicating and interfacing with clients
Communicate effectively with the company management team on a regular basis regarding project status and the scheduling of manpower and equipment
Make safety a top priority, realizing that the company has Zero Tolerance for those who do otherwise

Required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution is preferred
Proficiency in electrical testing methodologies and related software tools
Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, ICEA, and NETA standards
Ability to interpret and draw one-line, three-line, AC/DC, and control diagrams
Strong analytical and mathematical skills (including trigonometry)
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card
Must pass drug, alcohol, and background checks
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Work may occur in hazardous or outdoor environments (substations, petrochemical plants, refineries)
Overnight travel up to 25% may be required
Extended or weekend hours as needed for project schedules
Indoor work for documentation, training, and coordination tasks
Must work safely in all weather conditions and confined spaces
