Club Maintenance Engineer - Part Time
Sonnenalp Hotel of Vail is a prestigious establishment seeking a Club Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth daily operation and member appeal of the Club. The role involves maintaining and repairing equipment throughout the club facilities while making decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
Responsible for all Club engineering repairs including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems
Maintains and operates all equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety ensuring regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
Proactively advises management on current and potential engineering challenges
Consults blueprints or product manuals in order to fix boilers or air-conditioning motors
Formulates plans, designs, estimates costs, and specifications for repairs, construction, maintenance, and modernization programs
Manages all maintenance requests through HotSOS work order system, inputting follow up notes as required; ensures preventative maintenance work orders are within HotSOS system and regularly attended to
Daily maintenance including: daily rounds, check and record gauges and operation of boilers, water temperatures, circulating pumps, water and electric meters, steam-boiler blow down, compressors, air handlers, monitoring pool chemicals
Facilities maintenance including: changing light bulbs, repairing light fixtures, locks, bathroom repairs, repairing doors and windows
Public areas: performing preventative maintenance and repairs to the various rooms, Harvest restaurant & kitchen, lobbies, treatment rooms, retail shops, club house, fitness equipment, hallways and stairwells, cafeteria, shop and store rooms, etc
Door, window handles and locks including: repair and adjustments on all doors, windows and locks. Replacement of door locks, etc
Snow Removal: Shoveling, clearing ice, throwing gravel, snowplowing, clearing walkways, stairwells, parking lots, loading areas, satellite dishes, etc
Miscellaneous responsibilities: Furniture repairs, hanging pictures, minor electrical work, repair lights and fixtures, painting, respond to radio calls and communicate with caller concerning progress of the request
Fire alarm and safety: Knowing and abiding by all Club safety and emergency procedures. Locate problem area, assist Fire Department and reset elevators
Maintenance shop and storerooms: Assist in cleaning and keeping the shop orderly. Keep tools in designated places. Inform management about needed parts and stock
Performs annual/semi-annual/quarterly Property Maintenance audits
Regularly evaluates, inspects, and walks the Club – taking into account the physical condition of facilities and cleanliness of the spaces, in order to determine necessary enhancements, work orders, or changes in areas that need attention
Member relations: responding to members in a friendly, helpful and professional manner at all times
Notify management of inability to complete tasks due to lack of parts, time or training
Perform any further duties as required by the Director of Operations
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an engineering and building maintenance or related professional area in a related field. (Safety principles, machine maintenance, and plumbing, boiler installation, operation and repair)
Experience in painting, drywall repair, hanging pictures, etc
Must be able to work with others and be professional and courteous to guests and fellow employees
Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
Electric experience required
Valid Driver's license and clear driving record required
Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull material weighing up to 100 pounds
Must be able to work under conditions requiring prolonged standing, lengthy walking, frequent bending, stretching, crawling through tight spaces and working up to roof top level
Requires the ability to distinguish colors and symbols
Requires frequent exposure to dust, dirt, water and chemicals
Required to work outside in all weather conditions
Required to work overtime as needed
May be required to work evenings and weekends
Preferred
Pool certification preferred
HVAC Certification preferred, but not required
HotSOS experience preferred
