Responsibilities
Research and analyze technical, operational, and financial details across Amazon's software ecosystem to develop actionable insights and recommendations for software development rationalization
Partner with procurement and business teams to evaluate software usage patterns, study contracts, and identify strategic opportunities for consolidation and optimization across all business units
Create and implement frameworks for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of 1st party versus 3rd party software development, ensuring alignment with company-wide financial goals
Leverage advanced analytics and AI technologies to identify cost-saving opportunities across thousands of longtail contracts, developing innovative approaches to consolidation and price correction
Communicate complex financial analyses and recommendations to senior executives, including preparing compelling financial packages that enable data-driven decision making about the company's technology investments
Qualification
Required
8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
5+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 5+ members experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
Preferred
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
MBA, or CPA
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
