Responsibilities

Participate in Project Core Teams to drive the release of robust, quality products into manufacturing and incorporate new designs into life sciences instruments
Manage projects including the creation and maintenance of detailed project plans, schedules for team members, align cross-functional stakeholders, provide status reports, and analyze and present data to varied audiences
Participate actively and able to independently work on troubleshooting, problem solving, failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action processes
Carry out robustness DOEs, perform sequencing runs and interpret results of system and sub-system level testing to qualify or resolve product and process issues
Support the definition, design, development, testing, and validation efforts for product enhancements
Apply various analysis techniques, such as FMEA and statistical analysis to optimize product quality and minimize cost, providing all calculations and performance data required for new and existing products
Carry out documentation responsibilities including, but not limited to, generating detailed troubleshooting guides, engineering reports, and design validation plans
Identify the potential risk and provide recommendations for mitigation in the area of responsibility or at project level. Manage, track, and provide trade-offs of COGS or budget based on cost analysis
Mentor and coach the team in areas such as Six Sigma, 8D, DFSS, and risk management
Collaborate with Development, Process Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other departments as needed to address issues with and set appropriate specifications for manufactured products
Take the initiative to develop and implement new processes to collect data and analyze the health of production areas and drive improvement actions
Identify and implement corrective measures for product variation
Effective communication with all levels of organizational structure, through multiple departments, and across global sites

Required

Experience in one or more of the following fields: Next Gen Sequencing, Enzymes, Oligos, Reagent Formulation, Semiconductor Fabrication
Ability to understand data in whatever format it's presented, and effectively transform it to communicate a story, gain alignment and develop preferred action plan
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control and DOE techniques
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous requirements, adapt quickly, and learn
Working knowledge in data science such as big data analytics, predictive analytics, databases, etc., and a scripting language such as JMP, R, Python
Detail oriented, proactive, works independently, works well with others
Strong organizational skills
Significant degree of independence
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated capacity to juggle multiple competing tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet program and product quality/availability timelines
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Thorough knowledge of advanced scientific theories, principles, concepts, experimental techniques, industry practices and standards
Proven record of technical leadership, ability to motivate and influence technical rigor
Dealing with and managing change
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD in an applicable field of study; or equivalent experience

Preferred

Experience in high-volume production support in a high-tech consumables industry is a strong plus
Understanding of bioinformatics is a plus
