Responsibilities

Development of Plumbing and Fire Protection Construction documents (drawings, specifications. calculations. etc.) using computer software for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission critical environment for review by Sr. Engineer

Experience with design of Plumbing and Fire protection systems in mission critical facilities

Work on multiple projects simultaneously

Coordinate with other internal engineering disciplines to achieve successful, functional and innovative designs for our clients

Coordinate with other building disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent

Assists with the development of job specific discipline specifications

Perform field survey to document existing conditions and/or observation of construction activities

Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats

Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software

Preparation of Contract Documents using Revit and AutoCAD software

Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications for review by Sr. Engineer

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors

Ensure project timelines are met, and project stays within budget

Able to travel (Light travel for project meetings/site observations)

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

5+ years' experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems

Strong computer skills and skilled in software typically used in plumbing/fire protection design (i.e. hydraulic calculations)

Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs; Revit Experience is a must

Ability to communicate effectively and clearly

Must be self-motivated and know project design steps/requirements

Excellent organization and planning skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals

Working knowledge of building, plumbing and fire codes

Preferred

EIT/PE a plus

Mission Critical design experience a plus
