Clinical Informatics Specialist

Meritus Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist to enhance workflows and improve patient care through technology. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical teams to optimize electronic health records and drive data-driven solutions for better outcomes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with clinical departments to enhance processes and maximize EHR efficiency
Serve as a trusted liaison between end users, application analysts, and report writers
Identify opportunities for system improvement, compliance, and workflow optimization
Stay current on clinical decision support tools and help drive strategic initiatives
Test, train, and communicate changes related to Epic upgrades and workflow enhancements
Support departments in selecting system solutions that improve safety, confidentiality, and functionality
Partner with reporting analysts to improve value‑stream processes and data outcomes
Deliver credentialed Epic training for new staff, optimization efforts, and upgrades—via one‑on‑one sessions or “train‑the‑trainer” models
Perform other duties as needed to support clinical excellence and operational success

Required

BSN required
Minimum 5 years of clinical practice (hospital or clinic preferred)
Current RN license in Maryland or a Compact RN license with 'Compact' or 'Multi-State Privilege' designation
Epic Credentialed Trainer certification required within 6 weeks of hire
Strong communication and active listening skills
Ability to navigate complex healthcare environments with confidence
Understanding of change management principles
A passion for process improvement and lean methodologies
Proficiency in Epic and strong problem-solving abilities
A collaborative mindset and commitment to improving patient care

Preferred

Experienced RNs with an ASN or Diploma must obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire
Surgical services, emergency services, critical care, or medical-surgical experience strongly valued
Prior committee or project-based work
Experience with clinical systems and technology preferred
Nursing Informatics certification preferred
Process improvement experience (Kata) is a plus
