Senior Accountant - Management Reporting

The Senior Accountant - Management Reporting will assist in ensuring the accuracy of internal financial reporting and analyze financial trends, costs, and revenues to provide insights and suggestions for improvement.

Responsibilities
Timely and accurately prepare financial statements in accordance with established accounting policies and practices
Provides management assurance that adequate records and controls are maintained for all assets, liabilities, and transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles
Coordinates the processing of monthly journal entries from various areas of the bank to facilitate reporting period close
Responsible for systematic processing of prepaid, accruals, fixed assets and monthly accounting entries
Acts as resource/support for various assigned bank/general ledger reconciliations and adjustments regarding research issues and questions
Analyzes monthly results including researching unusual activity to ensure accuracy and validity in reporting
Performs variance analysis to prior periods and budget
Assists auditors in their facilitation of audit procedures
Prepares monthly financial board presentation requirements
Prepares monthly federal, state and local tax provision entries
Assists external consulting firm with deferred tax calculation and accurate recording of tax transactions related to acquisitions
Performs various accounting record keeping re: equity and tax roll forward and stock transactions
Facilitates and documents the accurate transition of acquired banks' accruals and capitalized assets
Maintains and updates policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements
Experience in financial statement preparation
Proficiency in financial analysis and variance analysis
Ability to coordinate and process journal entries
Experience with bank/general ledger reconciliations
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Preferred
CPA or equivalent certification
Experience in the banking or financial services industry
Knowledge of tax provision and deferred tax calculations
Experience with audit facilitation
Familiarity with financial reporting software
