Standard Costing Analyst
WorkTrust Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Standard Costing Analyst for a short-term engagement focused on designing the standard costing framework for a new product launch. The role involves collaborating with a project team to ensure accurate and scalable financial architecture aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Business Intelligence Gathering: Partner with the project team and cross-functional stakeholders to deeply understand the product’s lifecycle, manufacturing/service processes, and operational drivers
Cost Pool Development: Analyze expenditure data to develop and recommend cost pools that group related expenses (labor, materials, overhead) for accurate allocation
Absorption Rate Determination: Calculate and validate overhead absorption rates to ensure full production costs are captured accurately
Review existing financial data and operational workflows to identify cost drivers
Support the design of the standard costing framework for a new product line
Assist in the creation of financial models to simulate different costing scenarios
Collaborate with a highly skilled team to provide data-driven insights for management decision-making
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in designing or managing standard costing systems
Strong ability to handle complex data sets and translate them into actionable cost recommendations
Experience working within high-performing teams on tight project deadlines
Proficiency in advanced Excel (Financial Modeling) and experience with ERP costing modules
