Responsibilities
Know and understand specification criteria and perform inspections on parts to ensure they meet specifications
Understand and be able to complete all documentation requirements for inspections as performed
Read and understand work instructions to determine procedure for testing
Commit to ongoing development and competence of job functions
Perform tasks under direct supervision during the training cycle
Effectively communicate information at shift change
Perform daily check on the profilometer and check calibration date on all machines
Must be able to shut down and restart all machines
Ability to read and understand part drawings
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate
Ensure the cleanliness and order of inspection and test stations
Report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management, including the Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/or Director of Manufacturing
Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) required
Minimum of 1 year of previous manufacturing Quality Assurance experience or related experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web-based platform
Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail is required
Quality and safety minded
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to perform successfully under supervision
Preferred
Knowledge and understanding of inspection criteria
Strong shop math skills
Microsoft Office experience (specifically Excel)
Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing
