Automotive Requirements Engineer / Technical Consultant
Diconium is a global tech group specializing in software, data, and AI solutions for the automotive industry. They are hiring automotive requirements engineering professionals to support vehicle development and digitalization programs, focusing on end-to-end requirements engineering and collaboration across multiple projects and domains.
Responsibilities
Act as a central technical and methodological contact for all aspects of requirements management within assigned projects
Capture, consolidate, structure, and manage requirements across the full lifecycle
Coordinate closely with internal engineering teams, specialist departments, and external partners
Define, apply, and continuously improve requirements management processes
Elicit, analyze, and categorize stakeholder and system requirements
Ensure requirements meet defined quality criteria (clarity, consistency, testability, traceability)
Create and maintain reports on the current status of requirements management
Plan and conduct reviews such as traceability and quality reviews
Create, analyze, and communicate maturity metrics across specifications, architecture, integration, and verification
Support internal processes related to requirements management and contribute to process documentation
Support the configuration, maintenance, and effective use of the requirements management toolchain, including PTC Codebeamer
Coordinate requirements-related documentation and track changes through defined governance processes
Identify and drive process improvements within the development environment
Own and shape requirements engineering approaches across assigned projects
Lead requirements structuring, traceability concepts, and quality reviews
Support interpretation of standards and regulatory inputs where applicable
Guide gap analyses, impact assessments, and risk evaluations
Review and approve system-level requirements and changes
Act as a trusted interface for engineering, project management, and stakeholders
Govern and structure Codebeamer usage for project needs
Mentor and support less-experienced requirements engineers
Elicit, document, and maintain system and functional requirements
Support traceability, reporting, and requirements quality checks
Review existing artifacts and identify gaps or inconsistencies
Draft and update requirements based on stakeholder and technical input
Support change requests and governance workflows
Work within Codebeamer, Confluence, and Jira on a daily basis
Build domain knowledge across different automotive systems over time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
7+ years of experience in automotive requirements or systems engineering
Experience across multiple vehicle systems or domains
Solid understanding of Automotive SPICE and safety-oriented development
Hands-on experience with PTC Codebeamer
Experience deriving requirements from regulations, standards, and stakeholder needs
Working knowledge of Automotive SPICE
Working knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety)
Working knowledge of ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity)
Strong analytical thinking and quick comprehension

Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams
Flexibility and adaptability across projects and domains
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Preferred
Hands-on experience with PTC Codebeamer (certification a strong plus)
3–6 years of experience in requirements or systems engineering
Automotive development experience preferred
Exposure to regulated or safety-critical environments
Experience with RM / ALM tools (Codebeamer a strong plus)
PTC Certified Codebeamer Implementation Practitioner – a strong plus
IREB / IREP certification – a strong plus
Preferred proximity to Diconium offices in Detroit (MI), Los Angeles (CA), Los Gatos (CA), or Reston (VA) is a strong plus, but not required
