The role involves designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, modeling data for analytics, and partnering with application and ML teams to deliver production-ready datasets.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka)
Model data for analytics and application consumption; enforce data quality & lineage
Tune warehouses/lakes (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Delta/Lakehouse)
Automate CI/CD for data workflows; implement monitoring and cost controls
Partner with application and ML teams to deliver governed, production-ready datasets

Qualification

Data engineering experienceSQLPythonETL/ELT pipelinesCloud data servicesData modelingData qualitySoft skills

Required

3-5 years data engineering experience in production environments
Strong SQL and one scripting language (Python preferred)
Hands-on with at least one orchestrator (Airflow/Prefect) and one transformation tool (dbt/Spark)
Familiarity with cloud data services (AWS/GCP/Azure), object storage, and IAM
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data, or related field
Equivalent experience may substitute for degree

Preferred

Streaming pipelines (Kafka/Kinesis/PubSub), schema registry, CDC
Data versioning (DVC/LakeFS), great expectations or similar for quality
Security and privacy controls; PII handling and encryption at rest/in transit
