Lead BI Developer

Responsibilities
BI Solution Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and analytics tools. Utilize BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create interactive and intuitive data visualizations that enable users to derive actionable insights from complex healthcare data sets. Define and implement best practices for data visualization, data modeling, and report development to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of BI solutions
Data Modeling and Extraction: Lead the design and development of complex data models and SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from disparate sources
Performance Optimization and Scalability: Lead the optimization of performance and scalability of BI solutions, including data retrieval, query performance, and dashboard rendering, to ensure optimal user experience and responsiveness
Collaboration: Build relationships with PennDnA and client stakeholders, including senior leaders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop solutions that align with organizational goals. Helps set the team’s direction, contributing to team strategy and roadmap. Provide mentorship, guidance and technical expertise to junior team members. Data Standards and Governance Designs standards for testing and validation of PennDnA’s BI solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data and reports. Establish and enforce governance processes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and industry best practices. Defines and maintains sources of truth for critical metrics
Data Security and Privacy: Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information and ensure data privacy and confidentiality. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) throughout the BI development lifecycle
Project Management: Independently manage moderately complex projects from concept to execution, coordinating with other PennDnA teams as needed
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Own continuous improvement. Contribute to a culture of performance excellence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
6+ years Significant experience in business intelligence development with experience in managing complex projects. Proven track record of independently leading projects from concept to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, as needed
