Our client, CogniSoft Technologies, is seeking a skilled Databricks Platform Engineer to install, configure, and operationalize the Databricks Lakehouse platform for a large enterprise, focusing on secure setup, governance, automation, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities
Install and configure Databricks workspaces, clusters, and storage integrations
Implement SSO/SCIM, RBAC, and cluster policies for secure operations
Set up Unity Catalog for data governance and fine-grained access control
Configure network security (private endpoints, VNet/VPC peering, firewall rules)
Integrate logging and monitoring with enterprise SIEM for compliance
Establish cost management controls and usage governance
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines for automation
Apply patches/upgrades and troubleshoot platform issues
Document administration standards and hand off to internal teams
Qualification
Required
5+ years in cloud data platform administration
2+ years with Databricks
Expertise in Unity Catalog, cluster policies, and governance
Strong knowledge of Azure/AWS networking and security
Hands-on experience with Terraform and CI/CD
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
Demonstrates problem-solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues
Develops and supports standard processes to harvest data from various sources and perform data blending
Focuses on SQL database work with a blend of strong technical and communication skills
Demonstrates ability to learn and navigate in large complex environments
Excel acumen to develop complex spreadsheets formulas, creates macros and understands VBA code within the modules
Preferred
Databricks certifications
Experience with FinOps and cost optimization
Prior work enabling POCs and migrations
Experience preferred on the following tools and technology: MS SQL, Python, SharePoint, Advanced Excel Skill (formulas, VBA, Power Pivot, Pivot Table)
