Engineer III, Process

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to perform process engineering design functions for combustion and steam turbine auxiliary systems. The role involves preparing heat and materials balances, developing P&IDs, and ensuring designs meet contract and schedule requirements for power projects in the Americas.

Responsibilities

Prepare heat and materials balances, PFDs
Develop P&IDs
Develop Process data sheets for both instrumentation and equipment
Understanding of Process instrumentation and control principles
Able to perform and review hydraulic calculations
Control Valve specification and selection experience desired but not required
Heat exchanger thermal calculations
Pump sizing
Basic understanding of design work processes and workflow
Travel - 10%
Perform other such duties as may be required
Maintain a high level of understanding of the core products and technologies delivered by Mitsubishi Power
Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are emphasized
Willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
Report all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources

Required

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited College or University
5-7 years' experience with an EPC firm or combustion/steam turbine OEM
Strong analytical skills
System simulations in AFT Fathom and AFT Arrow
Equipment and heat exchanger rating in Aspen HYSYS
Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) design
Gas Pipeline Codes and Standards
Design or specification of natural gas conditioning equipment, including: knock out drums, coalescing filters for liquids and solids, adsorption units, etc
P&ID management
Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Basic understanding of design work processes and workflow
Ability to perform and review hydraulic calculations
Heat exchanger thermal calculations
Pump sizing
Travel - 10%
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable speaking to groups

Preferred

Working knowledge of natural gas compressor design and operation
Working knowledge of natural gas pressure regulating skids
Experience with HAZOP, SIL reviews, construction punch-out, and project startup activities
Smart Plant PID software
Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese language skills
