The Engagement-Focused Training & Development Specialist will support statewide training, education, and capacity-building programs for public health professionals across Texas.

Responsibilities

Assisting with planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, delivering, and evaluating training and capacity-building programs
Supporting training initiatives across multiple programs within the HIV Services Section
Providing in-person training to workforce members at various sites statewide
Facilitating small, medium, and large group sessions, including virtual and in-person workshops and professional development courses
Collaborating with internal public health programs to ensure training meets the evolving needs of the HIV/STD/viral hepatitis workforce

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university in public health, communications, education, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of relevant work experience that demonstrates the skills needed for this role
Two or more years of full-time experience in public health, public administration, HIV/STD services, or a closely related field
Experience developing and implementing public health workforce training is strongly preferred
Additional directly related work experience may substitute for education (up to 4 years)
Extensive travel, up to 75% of work duties, often for multi-day trips (up to 5 days/6 nights at a time)
Reliable personal transportation is essential; travel is reimbursed

Preferred

Previous professional experience in HIV/STD programs
Hands-on experience designing and delivering training to public health audiences
