Palermo's Pizza is a leader in private label frozen pizza and contract manufacturing, seeking an R&D Lab Technician to support their daily operations. The role involves inspecting samples, preparing products, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Sample Inspection: Examine production samples at various stages to ensure consistency and quality

Lab Preparation: Perform opening tasks to ensure the lab is ready for on-time start-up

Sample Management: Prepare and ship samples to customers using preferred carriers

Product Preparation: Assist in preparing samples for both new and existing products

Organization: Adhere to weekly duty lists and maintain a clean, organized lab environment

Event Support: Help set up special events, including product cuttings and demonstrations

Inventory Management: Monitor materials, replenish stock, dispose of expired products, and inform the Lab Coordinator of inventory needs

Compliance: Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in updating them as necessary

Quality & Safety: Comply with leadership directions regarding quality, safety, and company policies, promoting a safe work environment

Required

High School Diploma required

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong oral and written communication abilities

Ability to talk and hear clearly

Frequently required to sit and use hands/fingers for keyboard tasks

Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Close vision required for detailed tasks

Associate Degree preferred

Minimum of 1 year in a lab, production, bakery, or kitchen environment preferred
