Lead Attorney
Honeywell is a global leader in technology and innovation, and they are seeking a Lead Attorney for their Honeywell Building Solutions in North America. This role will provide leadership and direction for contract management, ensuring compliance and supporting business objectives while managing complex legal issues.

Responsibilities
Support new sales activities, including, for example, cross-functional review of RFQ requirements, contract review and flow downs, identification, mitigation, and collaboration to obtain approval as to any risks and non-standard contract terms, advice for business opportunities, and purchase order review and acknowledgements
Evaluate and resolve complex business issues, including factual assessment, development of strategies, and appropriate negotiation and resolution as it pertains to claims, change orders, and new contracts
Ensure adherence to sound contract management and risk assessment policies
Negotiate difficult and complex contractual issues
Draft, analyze, interpret, and develop contract terms and conditions
Provide critical information for the HBS North America leadership team tied to legal issues and contract negotiations
Deploy training on terms and conditions, corporate policies, process improvements, and risk mitigation
Advice and assist with compliance efforts
Qualification
Required
Law Degree
4 or more years contract management experience
2 or more years of experience in commercial contracting and/or construction contracting
Preferred
Québécois French skills (written and spoken)
Subject matter expertise in contract management principles and technique
Experience negotiating and interpreting government contracts
Understanding of financial concepts (cash flow, ROI, working capital)
Self-starter with ability to work independently, demonstrating sound business judgment
Ability to work within the hierarchy and matrix of a multi-national company
Excellent problem solving, decision making, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate confidently with internal and external customers at all organizational levels
Think strategically, critically and analyze details for achieving program objectives
Think on multiple levels while gathering, analyzing and synthesizing globally relevant data
Identify and implement process improvements
Create or embrace a vision and inspire others to meet organizational goals
Encourage intelligent risk taking
Ability to multi-task on a large number of complex contract issues
Ability to deploy and gain acceptance of new approaches and objectives
