Responsibilities

Represent the Staff of the Ohio Power Siting Board and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio in administrative hearings
Represent the Board and Commission in direct appeals and original actions filed in the Ohio Supreme Court
Give clients advice and counsel on policy issues and rulemaking
Edit and file comments on behalf of the Commission in federal agency dockets on issues impacting Ohio customers’ utility bills and services
Represent the Commission as a party before federal agencies and appeals therefrom to Appellate Courts

Required

At least 2 years or more of litigation and appellate advocacy experience
Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work independently and/or contribute as a team player with other attorneys as lead counsel on cases

Preferred

Advanced degrees or experience in energy or administrative law, environmental studies, accounting, business or engineering
Prior experience arguing cases before the Ohio Supreme Court or other appellate court
