News Publications Specialist

U-Haul is seeking a full-time writer to join their Internal Communications Team. The role involves creating clear and compelling content to inform and inspire U-Haul Team Members across the U.S. and Canada, including writing feature stories, news briefs, and announcements.

Responsibilities

Work under the direction of the Internal Communications manager to complete writing assignments across a range of formats
Conduct interviews with team members at all levels of the company
Research, fact-check and collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and tone
Coordinate photo needs with our in-house creative team
Edit and proofread content for grammar, style and consistency
Translate complex or technical information into engaging human-centered stories
Juggle multiple deadlines with grace (and humor)

Required

A bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications, creative writing, public relations or equivalent professional experience
One or more years of experience in news, business or feature writing (corporate communications experience is a plus)
Impeccable writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
A flexible, collaborative attitude and a knack for storytelling
A sense of humor—seriously, it's a must
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams etc.) is required

Preferred

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or other graphic design software is a plus!
