PUBLIC RECORDS COORDINATOR I

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is seeking a Public Records Coordinator I to coordinate and prepare public records requests. Responsibilities

Interprets, applies, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and policies regarding public records
Reviews, redacts, and reports for various units of the sheriff’s office
Enters, scans, and attaches records requests and associated documents in GovQA for tracking and accountability
Coordinates and prepares public record requests from attorneys, other law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, State Attorney’s Office, and inmate public records
Responds to inquiries and complaints from the general public and interprets and explains departmental policies and procedures to customers
Processes fingerprints
Processes offense and accident reports
Reviews and redacts arrest reports for the Clerk of Courts
Files and retrieves various types of documents
Operates standard office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, telephone, utilizing word processing, and PDF editing software
Maintains confidentiality of records and other sensitive information
Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville’s competencies
Performs related duties as required

Required

Knowledge of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office policies and procedures regarding public records
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations and policies regarding public records
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
Ability to interpret laws, rules, and regulations
Ability to gather, analyze and interpret data
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to operate a personal computer utilizing word processing, and PDF editing software
Ability to review information and create reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
Ability to lift moderate to heavy items
Ability to prioritize work assignments and multi-task
One(1) year of education and/or experience in paraprofessional work
