Enterprise System Administrator
Texas State Technical College is seeking an Enterprise System Administrator to manage their statewide server infrastructure. This role involves implementing and maintaining server systems, supporting automation, managing user access, and ensuring compliance with backup and disaster recovery protocols.

Responsibilities
Assist in planning, design, and maintenance of IT computing infrastructure, including server OS updates, patch management, and asset tracking
Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure efficient operations
Monitor nightly processes and system performance
Implement and maintain file systems, backups, and disaster recovery protocols to ensure data protection and business continuity
Create and manage system automation using PowerShell, Python, and Linux shell scripts
Leverage infrastructure as code tools to improve system efficiency and reduce manual workload
Manage elevated user access, Active Directory, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems
Collaborate with application teams to automate user provisioning and develop system integration workflows
Serve as escalation support for issues related to server infrastructure
Collaborate with vendors, network specialists, and field support teams to resolve technical issues
Support the Enterprise Application Administrators on infrastructure-related problems
Qualification
Required
1–5 years of experience in a higher education or enterprise setting managing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and backup systems
Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Linux shell)
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Demonstrates proficiency in system administration and enterprise infrastructure
Analyzes system issues and develops effective solutions
Leverages scripting and tools to streamline infrastructure tasks
Works effectively with technical teams and end-users to support system needs
Maintains accurate system records, access logs, and documentation
Takes ownership of infrastructure responsibilities and project deliverables
Demonstrate the ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure
Preferred
Experience with identity management systems and public cloud platforms
Experience with relational database administration
Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools
