Trico Electric Cooperative is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Network Engineer Manager. This role oversees the management of core network equipment and critical interconnects, ensuring the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of a robust fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network and supporting smart grid communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Oversees the management of core network equipment and critical interconnects

Ensures the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of a robust fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network and supporting smart grid communications infrastructure

Accountable for both technical leadership and people management

Ensures the network is secure, resilient, scalable, and aligns with organizational objectives to deliver high-quality communication services

Actively engages in all phases of service management including design, transition, operation, outage restoration, and continuous improvement

Provides support for incident escalations and problem resolution while collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to achieve operational goals

Bridges IT, OT, and field operations, supporting mission-critical systems including SCADA, ADMS, OMS, AMI, substation communications, and enterprise IP services, while enabling high-quality broadband service to Members

Required

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in Network Engineering/Telecommunications; or 7 years' experience in Network Engineering/Telecommunications management in lieu of education

Industry certifications (CCNA/JNCIA level or above)

Prior experience with Cisco/Juniper routing, data center switches, DNS/DHCP servers and firewalls (Fortinet/ Palo Alto)

Vendor experience with common utility or ISP platforms (e.g. Calix, Adtran, Nokia, etc.)

Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Driver License
