Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) Program Coordinator

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring a Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) Program Coordinator in the Division of Environmental Management to lead the WET program for the Water Quality Program. The role involves statewide management of the WET and wastewater additives programs and advising on the effects of pollutants on aquatic life and public health.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary staff responsible for statewide management of the whole effluent toxicity (WET) and wastewater additives programs
Play an advisory role to other DNR programs in need of counsel on the effects of pollutants on the health of fish & aquatic life, wildlife, and humans

Qualification

Natural resources managementBiological sciencesToxicity test methodsProject managementTechnical writingInterpreting regulationsEnvironmental sciencePresentation skills

Required

Formal training and/or experience related to natural resources or biological sciences (e.g., biology, water resources management, environmental science, chemistry, or other environmental studies)
Work experience in a setting where it was necessary to interpret or apply state or federal requirements (e.g., policies, administrative codes, statutes)
Experience managing and/or overseeing multiple projects at one time
Experience writing and presenting technical information to audiences of various knowledge or expertise of the content

Preferred

Education, training and/or experience related to developing, evaluating, or performing toxicity test methods
Formal education in natural resources or biological sciences or related field (e.g., biology, water resources management, environmental science, chemistry, or other environmental studies)
Work experience assessing the impacts or potential impacts of point source pollution on aquatic life organisms
