Harmer Associates is partnering with a PE backed client in the distribution/manufacturing industry to hire a Business Unit Controller. This role is responsible for leading the finance and accounting department, focusing on financial reporting, analysis, planning, and risk management while collaborating with the team and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Position responsible for leadership of the business unit finance and accounting department in all aspects of financial reporting, analysis and planning, financial risk management, commercial and contract financial analysis

Role requires understanding of the big picture yet focus on the details, ability to collaborate with the team as well as lead, focus on continuous improvement, and strong desire to analyze, investigate, and resolve a wide range of business issues

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business field

10-15 years of Accounting/Financial experience

Experience in senior level finance role, partnering with operations management at multiple levels and implementing financial management and business strategies

Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including US GAAP and internal control frameworks

Experience using and implementing integrated accounting systems and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Infor)

Manufacturing exposure required with industrial company background
