Wakefield Thermal is seeking a Saw Assistant to assist in the operation of various types of saws for metal cutting. The role involves supporting machine operations, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Assists operator in machine start-up

Monitors cut process and notifies operator when problems arise

Monitors machine fluid level

Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation

Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management

Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company

Required

High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED)

Assists operator in machine start-up

Monitors cut process and notifies operator when problems arise

Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company

Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow is intermittent with intermittent checking

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms

Frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes
