Developmental Sales Representative
WMC is a dynamic industrial company seeking a Developmental Sales Representative to prepare individuals for a rewarding career path in sales and leadership. This role involves managing customer accounts, supporting Outside Sales, and gaining exposure to various operations and markets, with a structured learning experience across multiple product families.
Responsibilities
Manage assigned customer accounts and provide exceptional support to Outside Sales
Learn and master WMC’s diverse product portfolio, pricing structures, and supply chain processes
Collaborate closely with operations, logistics, and scheduling teams to ensure customer satisfaction
Deliver accurate and timely order entry, pricing, and customer communication
Identify cross-selling opportunities across product families
Support leadership with data analysis, customer insights, and forecasting activities
Participate in leadership development sessions and cross-functional projects
Join commercial ride-a longs and customer visits (1–3 overnight trips per month) to gain hands-on sales experience from seasoned mentors
Take ownership of an assigned territory, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
Drive profitable sales growth through account management, business development, and cross-family selling
Mentor new Inside Sales teammates and support their development
Represent WMC at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (4-year) required — preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field
0–5 years of professional experience in sales, customer service, operations, or related areas
Comfortable with data, technology, and learning new systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and accountability
Learning agility and intellectual curiosity
Business acumen and understanding of supply chain and pricing dynamics
Leadership potential and proactive mindset
Hardworking, resilient, and eager to learn

Internship or experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sales is a plus
