Business Office Manager/Medicaid Coordinator

Confidential company is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Business Office Manager / Medicaid Coordinator to support the financial and Medicaid functions of a long-term care facility in Long Island. The role involves assisting residents and families with the Medicaid application process, overseeing daily business office functions, and ensuring compliance with Medicaid rules.

Responsibilities

Assist residents and families with the Medicaid application process from start to finish
Gather, review, and submit required documentation to ensure timely and accurate applications
Communicate with Medicaid offices to follow up on applications, requests, and approvals
Review financial information to help determine eligibility in accordance with NY Medicaid guidelines
Monitor Medicaid billing activity and ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time
Track reimbursements and address denials or discrepancies as they arise
Work with Medicaid Managed Care plans to coordinate enrollments and ongoing coverage
Oversee daily business office functions and ensure financial processes are followed
Support revenue cycle activities and identify opportunities to improve collections
Supervise and support business office staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed
Maintain organized and accurate records related to Medicaid and billing activity
Stay current with Medicaid rules and ensure processes remain compliant
Assist with reporting and internal reviews when required

Required

At least 1 year of experience working with Medicaid eligibility, billing, or reimbursement

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing/Medicaid systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
