Responsibilities
Crafting and developing conceptual designs for electrical substations based on client specifications and project needs
Performing critical technical analyses and calculations to ensure systems operate safely and effectively
Troubleshooting electrical challenges and implementing innovative solutions to optimize substation performance
Ensuring designs and operations meet industry standards, codes, and regulations
Visiting project sites to assess existing substation conditions and recommend improvements
Collaborating with clients to deliver impactful utility project solutions
Supporting construction planning and project execution
Managing communication with project teams and department leaders to keep projects on track
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field plus 2+ years of experience in utilities, consulting, or similar industries
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly in high and medium voltage systems
Familiarity with power system analysis, protection methods, and industry equipment/vendors
Proficiency with AutoCAD and the MS Office Suite
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Exceptional attention to detail and technical accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients and teams
Preferred
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred
Coursework or experience in power systems, electrical design, protection systems, and substations is a plus
Additional certifications in substation design or project management are a bonus
