Responsibilities
Lead Design Excellence: Drive the development of advanced electrical substation designs, ensuring they meet industry standards and exceed client expectations
Mentor and Guide: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less senior engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring quality across projects
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion
Optimize Performance: Conduct detailed analyses to enhance substation reliability, performance, and safety
Manage Projects: Oversee multiple high-stakes projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and deliver on time and within budget
Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, presenting project updates, resolving technical inquiries, and building lasting relationships
Ensure Compliance: Participate in inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews, proactively addressing any challenges to maintain compliance
Field Leadership: Perform site visits to assess substation conditions, lead field investigations, and support construction planning
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
7+ years of experience in utilities, consulting, or related industries
Advanced expertise in electrical engineering principles, substation design, and power systems
Deep knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations governing substation projects
Proficiency with AutoCAD and the MS Office Suite
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects and inspire teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage clients, contractors, and regulators
A strategic mindset to develop innovative solutions and long-term project strategies
The ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
Proven experience leading substation projects from design to commissioning
Preferred
Master's degree
Professional Engineer (PE) designation
PMP certification
Advanced coursework in power systems
