Legal Support Specialist

LHH is partnering with a highly respected professional services organization to identify a skilled Litigation & Bankruptcy Docketing Specialist to support complex legal matters across state and federal courts. The Docketing Specialist will manage court deadlines, interpret procedural rules, and support filing and research needs, ensuring calendaring accuracy and compliance for litigation and bankruptcy matters.

Responsibilities

Calculate, track, and maintain litigation and bankruptcy deadlines using a rules-based docketing and calendaring system
Analyze pleadings, court filings, and bankruptcy notices to identify applicable dates and procedural requirements
Enter and maintain accurate docket entries while applying rigorous quality-control standards
Proactively notify legal teams of upcoming deadlines and procedural obligations
Research court rules, judge preferences, and case information using electronic databases such as PACER and other court systems
Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding deadlines, filings, court procedures, and rule interpretations
Prepare and distribute regular docket and deadline reports to case teams
Support electronic filing procedures and assist with special projects related to docketing and calendaring
Collaborate with team members through regular meetings and cross-functional coordination

Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation and/or bankruptcy docketing
Hands-on experience with rules-based docketing software (Compulaw strongly preferred)
Proven knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems
Experience supporting matters across multiple jurisdictions
Solid understanding of the lifecycle of litigation and/or bankruptcy cases, including appeals
Strong familiarity with legal terminology and court documents
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
