Electrical Engineer II (North America Quality Center - NAQC)
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for their North America Quality Center (NAQC) to enhance electrical systems for their vehicle models. Responsibilities
Utilize warranty claim analysis to conduct quality investigations on Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia vehicles
Execute field and on-site investigations to identify, analyze, replicate, and resolve quality-related issues for electrical systems
Instrument various DAQ systems to prototype and customer vehicles to capture vehicle ECU (Electronic Control Unit) data
Publish technical reports on electrical system evaluations and investigations to provide HMG R&D and Quality teams with recommendations for improvement
Perform part-failure analysis on electrical components to diagnose electrical-related issues and share findings with the corresponding vendor(s) and other quality divisions via investigation reports
Provide technical support and participate in various product evaluation programs with NA sales affiliates and assembly plants
Conduct ECU Over-The-Air (OTA) update validations to confirm market deployment readiness
Support dealers and vendors with electrical-related issues by performing root cause analysis and providing solutions/countermeasures
Perform supplier audits to ensure NA meets HMG's quality standards
Identify market trends via customer feedback, external indices (e.g., J.D. Power and Consumer Reports), customer forums, and automotive syndicated studies
Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders (i.e., HMG R&D, suppliers, other quality departments, etc.) to resolve complex, quality-related issues
Mentor junior engineers on best practices and facilitate on-the-job learning
Travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
3+ years of experience working with automotive electrical systems
QA/QC/QI experience
Familiarity with Vector CANalyzer/CANoe/CANape, Oscilloscope, and Spectrum analyzer
Root cause analysis skills
Experience conducting field and on-site investigations
Familiarity with performing testing, validation, research, and benchmarking activities/tasks concerning electrical systems
Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to perform additional projects and tasks (as assigned) to support the overall mission, vision, and goals of NAQC
Proficiency in Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
