The Senior Business Development Manager will lead business development for the utility and OEM market, managing existing customer relationships and expanding the client base through strategic initiatives and market analysis.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage and grow relationships with our existing utility and OEM clients, identifying opportunities for growth through cross-selling of the full portfolio of Powertech products and services to meet their evolving needs
Proactively identify and engage with potential target clients within the utility and OEM market. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand our customer base, leveraging market trends and competitive intelligence. Identify potential clients in target industries and complete appropriate research of the prospective client’s business and service need. Leverage CRM tools to manage client relationships, track sales pipelines and generate insights that drive strategic business development initiatives
Lead the coordination and execution of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholder
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within the utilities and electrical manufacturing landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team to guide business strategy. Lead the development of business cases for new services and offerings that reflect the changing needs in the market. Represent Powertech at conferences, meetings, and industry events. Estimated travel is 25-50%

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
Minimum of 8 years' experience in business development, commercial strategy and marketing in a related industry for professional services
Previous experience in engineering consulting would be an asset
Proven ability to lead high-value negotiations and build long-term partnerships
Experience in establishing and managing strategy partnerships with key industry players, demonstrating a knack for collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships
High Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) for sales and client management
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Action oriented
Demonstrates excellent presentation skills in a variety of settings
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills by building rapport and effective relationships
Strong customer service skills
Able to analyze data and sales statistics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Demonstrates business acumen by staying up to date with industry trends, technology and information that could affect the organization
