Responsibilities

Lead the DFMA team responsible for all vehicle systems/domains across all Rivian's product platforms, and the GA Pilot team responsible for executing vehicle validation builds in our Irvine pilot facility
Mentor manufacturing engineers and managers through technical leadership, translate vision into action, inspiring from ideation to execution
Develop strategies to achieve challenging program timelines, from resource and schedule management to risk mitigation plans
Create and implement effective processes, standards and workflows to improve team efficiency
Support your team and drive accountability through major milestones such as product benchmarking, virtual releases, virtual builds, and design validation builds
Embark on a journey to discover new technologies and tools to arm your team and challenge the status quo
Listen intently, act quickly, provide context, and be a team champion

Qualification

DFMAManufacturing Engineering PrinciplesLeadership Experience2D & 3D CADTechnical Problem SolvingCommunication Skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field
10+ years of experience in an engineering role related to DFMA, product optimization, or manufacturing optimization. Leadership experience preferred
Skilled in manufacturing and industrial engineering principles (OEE, cycle time analysis, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, DOE, quality control, equipment selection, return on investment, error proofing, supply chain & logistics)
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using first principles, challenge assumptions and biased towards action
Proven technical leader that can lead and influence cross-functional teams
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to concisely summarize and escalate complex topics
Experienced working within 2D & 3D CAD environments and various engineering tools
