Responsibilities

Analyze market for trends in vehicle wholesale values and work directly with retail leadership for defined market area to develop buying plans based on sales pace/stocking levels and needs
Achieve monthly purchasing quotas and gross margin targets by strategically sourcing vehicles from multiple online sources, fleet direct relationships and group trade networks
Manage a multi-million dollar portfolio of inventory assets through supply chain life cycle and post-sale process including coordinating payment, freight and logistics and arbitration
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with auction personnel, fleet representatives and internal partners
Serve as subject matter expert for market conditions, trends and changes in geographic market
Provide guidance and support to dealership Associates as it relates to purchasing and evaluating used vehicles
Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively
Limited travel required for training purposes and team meetings
Other duties as assigned

Required

Competitive mindset and comfort with fast moving, ultra-competitive buying platforms
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with key accounts
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Extreme comfort using technology as all work involves multiple online platforms
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to make good business decisions
Self-motivated and able to achieve objectives in a remote setting with minimal structure
Critical thinking and problem solving ability
High school diploma or the equivalent required

Preferred

Prior automotive industry experience
Prior buying experience preferred in some capacity (used car manager, lease return specialist, buyer etc.)
Industry specific software experience VAuto/Stockwave)
B.S. Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science etc
