Payroll & Data Entry Specialist

YMCA of Rapid City is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Data Entry Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. The role involves utilizing the HRIS payroll system, maintaining compliance with labor laws, collaborating with department directors, and supporting the financial integrity of the organization through effective payroll management.

Responsibilities

Utilize the HRIS payroll system to oversee payroll activities, including employee deductions, garnishments, and answering payroll-related inquiries
Maintain compliance with relevant labor laws and YMCA policies
Support the continuous improvement of payroll processes
Collaborate with department directors to verify timesheets, overtime, grant designations, and other payroll data to ensure accuracy before finalizing payroll
Submit payroll reports to department directors for review, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely completion of payroll processing
Maintain secure and confidential payroll records and assist with internal payroll audits
Work closely with HR to ensure accurate reflection of benefits in payroll deductions and help with the preparation of various reports
Process authorized wage garnishments, handle bank authorizations for payroll checks, and review medical, dental, and vision invoices to ensure accuracy
Process employee deductions for United Way donations, prepare retirement fund transmittals, and ensure timely processing of invoices related to benefits and payroll services

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1-2 years of payroll processing experience
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
History of maintaining confidentiality
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to uphold high standards of accuracy
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of employment

Preferred

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Familiarity with iSolved or similar payroll systems
